While modelling upholstery details as geometry isn’t always necessary, it is highly worthwhile when you need to showcase manufacturing specifications or create high-quality, close-up marketing visuals.

The video assumes some knowledge of SubD’s and Rhino and isn’t strictly a step by step tutorial but more a set of suggestions to create natural looking upholstery using just a few SubD tools in Rhino. The process is explained in Rhino for Mac but the workflow is identical in Rhino for Windows.
